Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I sealcoat my driveway?

Most driveways in central Kentucky should be sealcoated every 2 to 3 years, sealcoating protects against water, sun, oil, and salt damage, adding a protective layer each time

What’s the difference in sealcoating and repaving?

Sealcoating is a protective layer applied to existing asphalt to prevent damage and restore its dark, clean finish. Repaving, on the other hand, means replacing the asphalt entirely — a far more expensive process. Regular sealcoating helps you avoid the cost of full replacement.

How long does it take to cure?

Sealcoating typically dries to the touch within 6–8 hours but should not be driven on for at least 24–48 hours. We’ll always provide guidance based on the season and temperature at the time of your project.

Can you fix alligator cracks?

Alligator cracks indicate structural damage to the asphalt. We recommend patching or replacing before sealing as a sealcoat will not fix an alligator crack
